New studies added recently Pastor Gail’s Blog A busy Weekend We will observe Veteran’s Day at the 10:30 service, recognizing our vets, and praying for our soldiers. Right after church we will pass out ballots to approve our pastoral search team. Then the Prime Timers will have their annual catered thanksgiving dinner. Then maybe I’ll go home and veg out in front of the Bears game on Fox. Come with good expectations for the day. (I have gotten photos from almost 20 veterans so far.) If we approve the pastoral search team today, they will have their first meeting on Thursday at 7pm. Also pray for the pastor that God is preparing for us. Plans for thanksgiving are coming together. Posters and press releases are going out. Volunteers are being scheduled. We still need a few people to cook turkeys. This year we have a stack of Bibles, in English, Spanish, Korean and Chinese to give out. Pray that God will use this great American holiday to introduce people to Christ. Operation Christmas Child is in full swing. We start officially receiving shoe boxes on Sunday. A few people have already turned theirs in. We anticipate that we will deliver 1200-1500 shoe boxes to Cedar Rapids on Monday the 19 th .
