Lost and Found Pastor Dave Conrads
On Sunday we will be continuing our journey through Luke's Gospel and discovering the different ways Jesus is presented to us, the readers.
We've seen Jesus as the unique Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. We've seen Jesus as the Anointed One ("Messiah" in Hebrew, "Christ" in Greek) who comes to fulfill the Covenants and Prophecies of the Hebrew Scriptures. We've seen Jesus as the Healer, who liberates people from their afflictions...sometimes physically, but often spiritually. We've seen Jesus as the Teacher, the One who explains to us the ways of the Kingdom of God, and the life we can have by faith in Him.
This week we will look at Jesus the Redeemer...the One who has descended to us in order to lift us up; to seek the lost that we may be found. I hope we will see Jesus in a fresh way as we find the Amazing Grace he offers for all who would receive it!
Let us come and worship him....together!

Flurry of Activity Pastor Gail Mitchell
Darlene has challenged us to bring 1000 food bank items by Easter. I have to commend her for all the work she does, but she can't keep stuff on the shelf very long. The freezer still has soup and bread and a bit of meat, but it has thinned out a lot since I saw it last week. We have mixed fruit on the shelves, but no oranges or peaches or pears. The peanut butter supply is going down and tuna is gone. We have canned tomato juice but could use other juices. Someone brought a lot of TP, and we have a bit left, but not much. We have tomato soup and crackers, but could use lots of other soups. We will need to make a grocery store run soon to restock. We can always use cash, to buy exactly what we need. Just mark on your giving envelope how much you want to designate for the food bank. $1 counts as 1 item in our challenge. Thanks for your support.
The new budget is posted on the bulletin board by the office. We will discuss it and ask for preliminary passage at a special business meeting at 10:15 next Sunday, March 28. This will allow us to operate until final approval at the annual meeting on April 25. Income has been good this year, and we have been able to keep expenses under control, so the general fund continues to be in good shape.
You will see a flurry of activity between now and Easter. The blue walls have been repainted, a large cross is being built for the baptistery area, the fountain is temporarily place, while we prepare its more permanent home. The sidewalk coming up from the parking lot to the door on the West side is set to be fixed soon, then we will work on a new handrail.

Just mark Pine Lake Scholarship on your memo line of your check and make your check out to The River and drop it off there. Or take your grandkids to family camp and give their parents a break. Thanks!

Kolcyzk Update
We are also nearing our departure date for our trip to Europe with SEND to visit Poland, Czech Republic and Germany. We have several assignments when we arrive. We are to acquaint ourselves with new projects, scope out new ministry sites, and discuss with our field missionaries expansions and improvements of their present ministry sites. These are all things for which we will recruit on our campus visits. We have several students heading their direction for summer internships. We will also be visiting our home church's partnership church in Chemnitz, Germany.
Again, this last school year has been fruitful for recruitments. We were encouraged to see 50% of SEND's candidate orientation in January coming from our campuses and churches. The upcoming candidate orientation in June will also have several of our recruits going to the home office in Michigan to prepare for ministry. We have students heading to Spain, Czech Republic, Poland, or Kosova for the summer, a teacher going to the International School in Prague and a young couple with two children going to minister to Muslims in the Philippines. We also have a team going to Alaska for eleven weeks this summer. See more of our updates at:
