Great Need
I was again amazed this week. I went down to the foodbank to see how things were going, and it was almost empty. Darlene must be a very busy lady, she keeps giving away all the groceries. Fortunately, we still have money in the food bank account, and can buy the things that we need. At this rate, we can keep operating for about 6 weeks to 2 months. We'll let you know when it really starts to get low. Donations to the food bank are always accepted. If we bring things in regularly, I won't have to push so hard.
I was talking with a person from another church and in a round about conversation she said, "Your church is keeping people in that neighborhood alive." We should all feel good about our service in the neighborhood. We are able to help a lot of people because you care enough to give, and because Darlene has a big heart.
As you bring in cans of food or a box of cheerios, remember to say a short prayer for the needy family which will benefit from this gift.
Right now we need almost everything (See the yellow card on the bulleting board in the foyer). But, we don't need any green beans or Tomato soup. Thanks for your continued support.
